Favourite Moments of 2017

2017 has been a year of ups and down for me.

I've experienced so much and learnt a lot about myself as a person but I for one am one for focusing on the negative rather than looking back on everything good that has really made 2017 something to remember.

I was scrolling through my bloglovin when this post by the lovely Hannah caught my eye. She highlighted all her stand out, favourite moments of 2017. It was just a lovely reminder to be grateful for the little moments in your life so I wanted to put my own spin on a post and share some of my favourite moments of this roller coaster of a year.

So here's to an amazing year and my highlights...

Technically,  I started the tour back at the of 2016 but 2017 was the year that living in hotels, out of suitcases, back to back rehearsals and the like all came to an end. I wasn't on the stage but let me tell ya, working backstage is just as hard. Billy Elliot was a huge part of life. I pretty much lived and breathed tour life and didn't have a lot of time for me. Although it was hard, I definitely wouldn't change my experience. I worked with some amazing people and children. I laughed, I cried, I found a person within me that I never knew existed. I look back over the last 18 months with pure joy and pride, that I achieved so much! I did write a little post back when I came home here if you want to read more about it.

I can't take the credit for this one, I discovered this little app whilst watching my friend Brogan's Instagram live and I haven't looked back seen. In case you've never heard of the happy feed, it's basically a gratitude app that makes you think of three things from your day - whether they are big or small and write them in the app. I'm over 60 days into it and I really look forward to input my little moments of the day and giving time to something I would have glossed over.

My scrapbook has become my pride and joy over the past year. I love scrolling through my camera roll, uploading my images to lalalab, stalking my letterbox waiting for my little pink envelope to come through then arranging them into my scrapbook. I find it just so therapeutic and also really emotional! I mean, just looking at the pictures puts a smile on my face as it's like I'm reliving that moment all over again.

Picking up the vlog camera was one of the best things I've done this year. I have one of those all or nothing personalities. If I've got an idea in my head then I will do my best to follow it through to the best of my abilities. This is what happened with vlogging. Before I started touring, I was really into my Youtube channel, filming, vlogging the lot! When I started Billy, I threw myself into it, I really enjoyed every minute and gave it my all. I loved it right until the end but about 6 months in, I really did miss social media, chatting to the camera and just sharing my thoughts and feelings with you guys so when the tour was coming to an end, vlogging was the only think on my mind. Minus the week I had off to get my thoughts together, I've not missed a week and I love it! I definitely want to make my Youtube into more of a vlog/lifestyle channel and slowly I'm working my way towards it. I just need to remember to actually tell people when I've uploaded!

2017 has been a year of living out of a suitcase through work and through leisure.
Really sorry I keep talking about it but it was a huge part of my life but Billy was pretty intense and when we were on company break I tried to make the most of my time at home with my family and also have fun. I booked a few trips whether they were in the UK and away. The Lake District, Greece, I'm going to Cuba in a couple of weeks, even overnight stays in London and day trips to Liverpool. I have really enjoyed exercising my adventurous side and really want to continue it in 2018.

I"m going to let you into a little secret, I never used to be the most confident of humans going. It has taken me a number of years to feel comfortable in my own skin and it was only like last month that I'd started to become more me with my online presence. Weird, huh? I was talking to my friend, Rachel a couple of months again and she referred to me as a "girlboss" because I came across as having my shit together and super confident!

A girlboss? I would never imagine being called that, ever! Thank you, Rachel!

It did make me think. When did I get to this point of confidence? I totally don't have my shit together but I definitely feel like I grown so much over the past year. I have tackled life so differently to how I would in past years and I'm proud of myself for that. I'm learning to grab the bull by the horns and just roll with it and so far, it's paying off....

Come at me 2018! Let's see what you got!
