A Letter To My Future Self

Dear future Dionne,

How are you? I hope you're well.
I hope you're smiling when you read this and I hope you've given yourself a pat on the back for finding this on the deepest depths of the internet! Kudos!

I thought I'd sit down and write you a letter as our life over the past 2 years as been full of amazing adventures that we never thought would happen to us that I want to remind you of.

2016, had to be one of the best years of our life. We were offered a job chaperoning on Billy Elliot the Musical UK & Ireland tour which you took and ran with! Don't get me wrong there were hard times and I mean really hard times! The expansion - oh my goodness, do you remember crying on Christine's shoulders in the corridor just begging to come home? Not your finest moment but now it's over I look back at all the fun times... Kim dancing in the corridor, your play fights with Christine and Simon, Kim in general - she was hilarious! I really hope you're still in touch with her! The kids! All the jokes you shared, laughs you had even when they were being cheeky you never stayed mad at them for too long. You made some amazing friends whom I hope are still very much in our lives. They were a huge part of your life and one that shouldn't be forgotten.

Right now, you're about to start on your new adventure - you're going into estate agency! It's weird to think that this is a job you've been considering for the longest time and now you are actually doing it! You've made it! You've got yourself a career! At the time I'm writing this you're only on your second day so I can't tell you if you loved it or hated it but I hope we're still doing it! I really hope we stuck at this and give it a chance to see where we could go! Even if we're not at the same branch anymore, I really do hope you didn't just throw in the towel.

We are still very much single and you know what, you don't mind it at all. Don't get me wrong I would love to be in a relationship now, you know have someone to come home to in the evenings and have someone to send a goodnight text to but it's cool, it will happen when it happens. Right now we are focused on our career and getting a house. Please god, tell me we have a house when you are reading this! If we do, did we stay in Leeds or did we move to Liverpool like we wanted?

Travelling is still a huge part of us, going on holiday is what gets us through work! Our next big one is Cuba in December for mum's 60th birthday! That's right, we're having Christmas in the sun. We never thought we'd do that? Christmas is meant to be cold.
I always wanted to explore Europe more and visit countries I haven't ticked off my list yet. Italy is really high on your "to visit" list as well as Paris (but you're saving that one for "that" someone - you know being the city of love and all). The travelling bug is still going strong so I hope we've got a good few destinations under our belt.

There are so many other things I wish I want to say but I don't want to make this too long. All that matters is that you are happy in whatever you are doing whether it be estate agency or something else. We are healthy and safe and we have people that love us.
Remember to ask for help if you need it, it's not fun to struggle on your own and you always look on the bright side of life as it's precious.

Good luck!

Love,
Dionne, aged 25
