5 Good Things In January

Working on me, on my own happiness is becoming really important to me. It's something I've been wanting to work towards for a few years now but there has always been something holding me back. This year I've made a real effort to push aside any doubts or fears and work on me. I wrote a post here on just how I aim to achieve it.

As part of working on me, I want to try and focus on my happiness and look at the little things that make me happy to be me hence the idea for this post which may turn into a little series. I want to highlight 5 good things that happened in the month and share them with you so I can look back over them and just be grateful for those moments.

  • It has taken me what seems like a lifetime but I'm finally on the right track with my savings and can finally see some changes starting to happen. I'm still a long way off from perfect yet but I'm really working on changing my spending habits and kerbing any unnecessary shopping trips. I've actually documented the start of my journey here if you fancy a read and elements of it are changing already for the better but you'll have to wait for my mid-year update in June to see what's been going on.
  • I booked my first holiday of 2017 with my friend Abi in May, we're going to Halikidi, Greece and I can't wait. It's just going to be a mega chill with sun (hopefully), cocktails and spa treatments! It will be total bliss and I can't wait to create some posts while I'm out there.
  • Scrapbooking has become my obsession! Seriously since I received my polaroid printer (thank you Abi) for Christmas I'm like a woman possessed. Every photo I stick down makes me smile from ear to ear.
  • A big part of my month has been reading "The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying" and thinking about having less in my life. I've started to seriously declutter my room and started thinking about becoming more minimal. Less is definitely more and I want to keep exploring this as the months go on.
  • Blogging and having a full time job is tough, I'd love to sit and blog more but I'm limited on time but the fact I've managed to turn my blog around from November and have gone from very rarely posting to having a minimum of at least one post a week is a huge achievement for me and I'm loving it. I don't think  I realised just how much this little space on the internet means to me. I love coming on here and just typing away and interacting with you on social media. I hope my love for it continues through the year.
Just a little post to share the little things that happened in January.
What 5 things have made you smile this month?
