Beauty: The Beauty Blender

To me the most important part of my makeup is making sure the base is right. Making sure the foundation is a good colour match, the coverage is good and that my base is flawless and looks like skin. I'm not about the cakey life.

For my weapon of choice, I've always reached for a foundation brush and I think it's safe to say I've worked my way through a fair few from high end to drugstore and at the moment my real techniques buffing brush is my number one when I'm in a brush kinda mood.

Recently though, I've switched up my makeup application and ditched the brushes for a sponge! I know it sounds crazy but I've really been enjoying it.

My love for the sponge all started with the Real Techniques (can you tell I really like their stuff), the miracle complexion sponge changed up my foundation application game and I've never looked back since. With my need for beauty sponges growing I thought it was about time to upgrade to the original Beauty Blender. Let me tell you, it was the best thing I have ever done!

I don't know what it is about these beauty sponges but they are really making a difference when it comes to makeup application. Don't get me wrong, if you are looking for a super quick application with the sponges then you may not enjoy them. They like a fine wine, they can't be rushed! However if you like to take your time and blend, blend, blend then the Beauty Blender will become your new BFF.

At £18, the Beauty Blender isn't cheapest but it is definitely worth a go if you're looking for another way to apply your makeup plus it's multi purpose, I also use it to blend my concealer with the smaller side and that works beautifully.

Have you tried the Beauty Blender?

P.S *sidenote* the solid cleanser that comes with the beauty blender is A-MAZ-ING! I'll let you in on a little secret, I'd already used the Beauty Blender before taking the above photos and just cleaned it up with the solid cleanser! It looks brand new!
